Abstract Details

The aim of the study is to evaluate the experience with the AcrySof PanOptix Toric IOL. The lens is evaluated from the perspective of the visual outcomes, outcomes prediction with the Alcon online toric calculator and the quality of vision compared compared to the non-toric PanOptix.

Eye Clinic Zlin, Zlin, Czech Republic

5 eyes are evaluated and other 25 are scheduled for treatment in the following months. Eyes without pathology, only mild amblyopia, uneventful procedure. Biometry performed with IOL Master 700, calculation with the Alcon online calculator, surgery performed with the Centurion phaco machine, Verion used for guidance. At least 4 weeks follow up. Evaluated visual acuity for the distance, intermediate and near, autorefractometry and objective refraction, presence of the halo and glare, light requirements, other complaints. IOL Master and Verion compared as a diagnostic tool. Visual outcomes compared to non-toric PanOptix (400 eyes).

Patients are satisfied with the result of the surgery. Mean autorefractometry: 0,58 dsf / -0,55Dcyl, SE: 0,27, UCDVA: 0,94, UCIVA in both 66 and 80cm: 0,85, UCNVA in 35cm J.2. No special complaints about halo and glare, no special comments about increased light requirements. Visual acuity results are similar to our those of patients with non-toric PanOptix.

PanOptix Toric offers similar quality of vision as a non-toric PanOptix. general satisfaction is very high. We have currently no cases of advanced halo or glare sensations or increased light requirements.
