  COURSE DESCRIPTION: : This course will cover basic aspects of ocular trauma assessment and both conservative and surgical management of ocular injuries. Existing evidence on trauma management will be presented together with case presentations and surgical videos. The panel represents different subspecialties and their respective view on ocular trauma. Focus will be laid on primary surgical repair, including immediate or delayed lens surgery and vitrectomy. Interactive discussion of the presented cases is encouraged.
  
  COURSE OBJECTIVES: : To give a systematic approach on how to assess a patient with ocular trauma and how to initiate appropriate treatment. The course is especially targeted at junior surgeons who have to manage emergency trauma cases.
