To determine the ocular biometric characteristics during menstruel cycle by using Lenstar biometer.

Twenty two healthy women between the ages of 19 and 36 years with regular menstruel cycle were enrolled this prospective study. A complete ophthalmic examination were done for all participant, in the morning from 8.30 AM to 10:30 AM. Also, Central corneal thickness (CCT), axial length (AL), anterior chamber depth (ACD), lens thickness (LT), keratometric measurements were done at the same time using with the OLCR device. Measurements were done at the beginning of the cycle (1-3 days), at ovulation (12-16 days) and at the end of the cycle (26-32 days).


The mean age of the participants was 22.86± 4.22 ( range, 18-36 years). The difference in CCT, AL, ACD, LT, keratometry values and intraocular pressure were not statistically significant during the menstruel cycle.


The ocular biometric paramaters did not significantly varied during the menstruel cycle using with the Lenstar biometer.
