Abstract Details

To describe the setup of web based questionnaire forms in different languages linked to clinical data in EUREQUO.

Surgeons and clinics using the EUREQUO database

Two patient-reported outcomes measures have been included in the EUREQUO: QIRC for refractive surgery and Catquest-9SF for cataract surgery. Both questionnaires are Rasch analyzed. Translation to new European languages is ongoing. The translations will follow a standard procedure for translating patient questionnaires. Every translation of the questionnaires into a new language will include a validation study of the questionnaires. For this purpose surgeons in the country of the new language will collect about 250 questionnaire forms before and after surgery. The questionnaire data will be Rasch analyzed.

Translations: Questionnaire forms now exist for Catquest-9SF in English, German, Italian, Spanish, Swedish and Slovakian languages. Questionnaire forms for QIRC exist in English, German, Greek, Spanish and Slovakian. The questionnaires have been validated for all languages except Spanish and Slovakian which is ongoing. The technical part is now ready and any surgeon affiliated to the EUREQUO can use the translated patient questionnaires when desired. The questionnaire forms can be reached after entering clinical data on a patient. This enable surgeons to analyze both clinical outcomes and patient-reported outcomes by use of EUREQUO.

Questionnaires for patient-reported outcomes for cataract and refractive surgery is available at the EUREQUO homepage. The questionnaires are translated to a number of languages and validation studies are ongoing.
