Abstract Details

To evaluate results of Posterior chamber Phakic IOL implants in 24 eyes of patients with Keratoconus who had undergone Collagen cross-linking 6-18 months before.

Centre for Sight Group of Eye Hospitals, B-5/24, Safdarjung Enclave, New Delhi 110029, India (Tertiary Care Centre)

24 consecutive eyes of keratoconus patients who underwent Posterior chamber Phakic IOL implants after Collagen cross-linking were evaluated. UCVA, BCVA, corneal topography and specular microscopy pre and post-operatively were performed.

All patients had stable topography after collagen cross linkage. The pre-op UCVA improved from 0.1 to 0.85 while the BCVA remained the same. 1 patient needed re-dialing of the ICL . No incidence of glaucoma, corneal endothelial cell loss or cataract was noted.

Posterior Chamber phakic IOL implantation is a useful option for improving the UCVA of patients with keratoconus with stable topography after corneal cross linking. Long term results need to be evaluated. FINANCIAL DISCLOSURE?: No
