Abstract Details

To describe the clinical features of dissatisfied patients with multifocal intraocular lenses (IOLs) requiring surgical exchange with monofocal IOL implantation.

Wanfang Medical Center, Taipei Medical University

Clinical case series.

Five patients with seven eyes were treated by monofocal IOL exchange due to dissatisfied vision with multifocal IOL implants. Four patients are female and one is male. The visual acuity, glare and visual function questionnaire before and after IOL exchange were compared. The symptoms of glare and blurred vision significantly improved and the quality of visual function became better in all patients.

For the most dissatisfied group of patients with multifocal IOL implants, surgical exchange with monofocal IOL is an effective modality of treatment. FINANCIAL DISCLOSURE?: No
