Abstract Details

To investigate the efficacy of IPL treatment for ocular rosacea in patients who have not adequately responded to traditional treatments to control signs and symptoms of acute inflammation.

Private Clinical Practice

A retrospective review of ten patients with ocular rosacea who received the Toyos Technique IPL treatments. Patients completed a post-treatment subjective questionnaire. Tear Break Up Time (TBUT) was measured objectively by Oculus keratograph and slit lamp examination were used to measure improvement.

A subjective decrease in symptoms was reported among patients and an increase in TBUT on keratograph was recorded. However, in patients with associated scarring/pannus, no significant improvement was noted in that finding.

Positive results from this study warrant further investigation into the use of IPL for the treatment of ocular rosacea. FINANCIAL DISCLOSURE?: ... receives consulting fees, retainer, or contract payments from a company producing, developing or supplying the product or procedure presented
