The treatment of presbyopia was realized through four infero-nasal spots, 3 mm large, distant 30° between them, 3.5/3,8 mm distant from the center pupil, 1 to 3 D of correction. The treatments were performed with technical PRK and LASEK. From the common database containing the medical records of patients treated, there was selected according to strict inclusion and exclusion criteria, and divided into two groups: Presbyopic Hyperopia (PH) and Presbyopic Myopia (PM). The result of refraction UCVA, BCVA and MRE (eq.sf.) for distance and for reading with a followup of 12 months, were treated to evaluate the efficacy and safety of treatment.

In the group of PH residual MRE for distance was 0.0 ± 0.06 D, while the MRE for reading was 0.68D. In the group of PM the residual MRE for distance was -0.35D ± 0.38 while the MRE for reading was 0D. The results obtained with multifocal Presbytec System are similar to those obtained with the other technical systems for presbyopia laser correction.

Multifocal Presbytec System is a viable presbyopia laser correction, especially in patients ametropes. It is essential a careful selection of the patients to provide a result of refraction of success. FINANCIAL DISCLOSURE?: No
