Abstract Details

To determine the visual impact of glistenings in hydrophobic acrylic IOLs.

Consecutive patients presenting for cataract surgery were enrolled in the study. Following uneventful cataract surgery, photographic analysis of inclusions within hydrophobic acrylic lenses and stray light scatter using the Oculus C Quant device will be measured annually for 5 years. Secondary endpoints include Snellen visual acuity, posterior capsule opacification, optical visual symptoms and complication rates.

Between Aug 2010 and Dec 2010, 250 patients were enrolled in the study. The average age of the patients was 74.60 +/- 9.34 yrs; 8.50% had glaucoma and 23.50% had diabetes. Interim results at one year will be presented.

Interim conclusions at one year will be presented. FINANCIAL DISCLOSURE?: No
