Abstract Details

Comparison of the distance, intermediate and near vision between the binocular implantation of a bifocal 3D intraocular lens and the combination 3D / 2.5D

Centre Vision Bretagne Vannes, France

This study includes 24 patients with bilateral cataract (>18 years) in a 3-month non-randomized prospective study comparing the binocular implantation of a +3D diffractive bifocal intraocular lens to the association of two diffractive + 3D / + 2.5D intraocular lenses: 12 patients in each group. The distance, intermediate (60 cm) and near (40 cm) LogMAR visual acuities, IOL centration, monocular and binocular defocus curves, contrast sensitivity are recorded. The subjective assessment of vision is carried out using a questionnaire offered to the patient.

The implantation of two combined combined additions 2.5D / 3D allows a slight increase in depth of field for patients wishing intermediate and near functional vision without heavy dependence on the amount of light.
