Abstract Details

Purpose:

None contact optical biometry on patients with mature cataract, hypermature cataract, postcapsular cataracts using measurments with Lenstar900 and results.

Setting:

AMT clinic, Baku city, Azerbaijan. The author have no any financial interests.

Methods:

In 110 eyes of 76 patients between 40-75 years age with mature cataract using measurements of LensMaster900. Axial length (AL) was also measured using applanation ultrasonography (A-scan) and keratometry (K) with Compact Touch, intraocular lens (IOL) power was calculated with LensMaster900. Refractometry measured with autorefractometer Topcon KR-1. All eyes have been measured after surgery in 1 week, 6 month and 1 year by the autorefractometer .

Results:

After cataract surgery in 82 eyes visual acuity is 0,7 and higher. In 32 eyes visual acuity is 0,2-0,3 without correction. There was no difference between the mean absolute error (MAE) using Haigis, Hoffer, Olsen, SRK-T formulas on LensMaster900. Results after surgery are very good and stable, but in 11 eyes with hypermature cataract, posterior subcapsular cataract we unable measured AL with LensMaster900. We used contact biometry ultrasonography on this eyes.

Conclusions:

None contact optical biometry can be used in eyes with mature cataract, but in eyes with hypermature and posterior subcapsular cataracts it is very hard to measuring. FINANCIAL DISCLOUSRE:NONE
