
- The total duration of the video, including title and credits, must not exceed 10 minutes.
- The video must include a narration, music alone will not be accepted.
- The title and narration of the video must be in English.
- There are 3 categories of video presentation:
- No more than 2 videos may be submitted by an author in any video category.
- The deadline for submission of abstracts is 15 April 2005.
- Entries for the Video Competition and the Video Symposium must also include the video. The deadline for submission of the video is 31 May 2005.
- Videos for the Video Library must not be sent to the ESCRS Office in advance, but should be delivered directly to the Video Library at the Congress Centre in Lisbon on Saturday 10 or Sunday 11 September 2005.
- As your video will not be returned, do not send the master copy.

Authors submitting to the New Contributors category must be entering the Video Competition for the first time. Entries do not have to be technically sophisticated, the judges will evaluate these entries on the merit of their content, originality and artistic impression.
An international team of experts will judge the entries. First, second and third prizes will be awarded in each category. There will also be an overall winner.
Winners must be present at the Awards Ceremony on Sunday 11 September in order to receive their prize.
- Both an Abstract Form and a Video Tape must be submitted in order for an entry to be considered by the judges.
- The abstract submission deadline is 15 April 2005 and the video submission deadline is 31 May 2005.
- Only VHS, SVHS and DV tapes will be accepted for the Video Competiton. CD-Roms and DVDs will not be accepted.

- Videos which promote a company name or logo, acknowledge sponsorship or promote commercial products, will be not be accepted.
- Generic names should be used instead of product names, where possible.
- Instruments can be shown briefly, but not exceeding 10 seconds.
- Videos on any topic relating to cataract or refractive surgery will be accepted.
- Videos will not be accepted for the Video Competition if they have been presented anywhere in the world in previous years. However, videos shown at other congresses during the current year will be accepted.
- No more than 2 videos will be accepted from any author.
- The decision of the Video Competition Judges and Chairman will be final and binding.
- Send only 1 copy of your video and make sure it is labelled. Send your video to:

The Video Symposium on Challenging Cases will take place on Saturday 10 September. Videos accepted for the Symposium will be viewed and discussed during the session.
- Videos for the Video Symposium must be related to the Congress topics.
- The abstract submission deadline is 15 April 2005 and the video submission deadline is 31 May 2005.
- No more than 2 videos will be accepted from any author.
- Only VHS and SVHS tapes will be accepted for the Video Symposium.
- Send only 1 copy of your video and make sure it is labelled.

The Video Library will be open throughout the hours of the Congress. The Library provides a resource for delegates to review the surgical techniques of the experts attending the Congress.
- Videos for the Video Library must be related to the Congress topics.
- The abstract submission deadline is 15 April 2005.
- No more than 2 videos will be accepted from any author.
- Only VHS and SVHS video tapes will be accepted for the Library.
- Video tapes must be delivered directly to the Video Library in the Congress Centre on Saturday 10 or Sunday 11 September 2005 .
