General Information
Introduction
The XXVII ESCRS Congress will take place at the CCIB Convention Centre, Barcelona from Saturday 12 to Wednesday 16 September 2009. The ESONT Programme will take place from Saturday 12 to Monday 14 September.
A full programme of wetlabs and courses has been scheduled for Saturday and Sunday. These will be followed by Free Paper sessions, which will take place on Sunday afternoon and Monday morning.
The Symposium will take place on Monday 14 September, from 11.00 – 13.00.
Abstract submissions are invited for Free Paper presentations, which will be of 10 minutes duration, followed by 5 minutes discussion. Abstract submissions are also invited for Electronic Poster
Presentations and there will be a first and second prize of e750 and e500 for the best poster presentations. Please see pages 3 and 4 for details on how to submit these presentations.
The annual ESONT Gala Evening will be held on Sunday night at 19.30.

OFFICIAL LANGUAGE
The official language will be English.
TRANSLATION
There will be simultaneous translation from English to Spanish for the Free Paper Sessions and Symposium.
INSURANCE
Delegates are advised to take out travel insurance to cover medical expenses, accidents, loss etc.
No responsibility will be accepted by the Congress Organisers.
ENTITLEMENTS
Payment of the ESONT registration fee entitles delegates to participate in the ESONT Free Paper Sessions and Symposium, to attend the scientific sessions of the ESCRS Congress, and to enter the exhibition. Admission to the ESONT Gala Evening is also included. There is an additional charge for participation in the courses and wetlabs.
REGISTRATION DESK
Delegates will receive their Congress Pack (badge and final programme) at the registration desk in the Convention Centre. Registration will open on Friday afternoon, 11 September. The registration desk will be staffed throughout the official Congress hours.
EXHIBITION
The Congress will be accompanied by a commercial exhibition which will open on Saturday 12 September.
