Abstract Details

To evaluate visual and refractive outcomes and postoperative pain in eyes undergoing standard photorefractive keratectomy (PRK) versus trans PRK (T-PRK) using the Schwind Amaris platform.

Oftalmosalud Instituto de Ojos,Lima, PerĂº

This was a randomized study including 30 patients with bilateral myopic or myopic astigmatism between January 2015 and June 2015. Eyes were randomized to have alcohol assisted PRK in one eye and T- PRK in the contralateral eye. All aspheric treatments were performed using the Schwind ORK-CAM module that integrates aspheric ablation profiles. Pre and postoperative visual acuity, refractive results, slitlamp examination were performed at 1,7,30 and 90 days. Postoperative haze and pain was assessed at each the follow up times. Pain was measured using an analogue pain scale.

In the T-PRK group, mean UCVA was 0.025 LogMAR and mean BCVA was 0.01 LogMAR. Comparative results will be present later.

Will be presented later.
