Abstract Details

Purpose:

To determine changes in the anterior chamber and the size of the iridocorneal angle using optical coherence tomography and Scheimpflug imaging technology in subjects implanted with multifocal intraocular lens after cataract surgery with femtosecond laser.

Setting:

The study was conducted in a private ophthalmological clinic in Madrid, clinical Rementeria

Methods:

: Prospective study of 36 healthy eyes (68.8 ± 7.9 years) undergoing cataract surgery with femtosecond laser with implantation of intraocular lens ( IOL) AcrySof RESTOR SN6AD1 . The measures of the anterior chamber were performed the day before surgery and one month after she teams Visante AS- OCT and Oculyzer ™ II . Making eye pressure and visual acuity was also performed on both days.

Results:

After cataract surgery with femtosecond laser , the depth of the anterior chamber showed a significant average increase of 1.54 ± 0.28 mm when measured with OculyzerTM II and 1.27 ± 0.34 mm with AC Visante OCT . system The iridocorneal angle was significantly higher for 10,2º OculyzerTM ± 4.23 II 6.52 ± 9,38º for temporary 8,29º AIC and ± 7.13 for nasal Visante AIC with AC- OCT system. While taking in central corneal thickness was 10.36 ± 1.83 with OculyzerTM II and 14.19 ± 1.26.

Conclusions:

: After performing cataract surgery with femtosecond laser in our study we found an increase in anterior chamber angle iriocornal studied with the Visante AS- OCT and Oculyzer ™ II systems. But only shown concordance between both systems in the measurement axes of the central corneal thickness . The measure eye pressure has no clinically significant changes after cataract surgery with femtosecond laser
