To evaluate the efficacy and rotational stability of enVista toric intraocular lens (Bausch&Lomb) in cataract surgery.
Department of Ophthalmology at Centro Hospitalar Baixo Vouga.
This study comprised 20 eyes with cataract and topographic corneal astigmatism higher than 1.00D and lower than 3.00D, submitted to cataract surgery using the phacoemulsification system. Outcomes of visual acuity and IOL rotation were evaluated 1 day, 1 month, 3 months and 6 months after surgery.
The preliminary results showed an uncorrected visual acuity of 20/32 or better in all patients and no lens showed more than 10 degrees of rotation. Patients were satisfied with their vision without reporting severe visual phenomena.
Short-term follow-up showed a favorable efficacy, rotational stability and safety results supporting the use of this toric IOL for patients with cataract and corneal astigmatism.
