to avoid the decentration of the visual axis of the prosthesis, we performed two concentric trephinations with femtosecond laser.
Ophthalmic Department, Misericordia and Dolce Hospital, Prato, Italy
two concentric side cuts were performed in a donor cornea, using the femtosecond laser iFS150. Firstly, a 8.7 mm diameter anterior side cut was performed, secondly a concentric 3 mm diameter anterior side cut was performed, within the same applanation procedure. The resulting donor cornea was correctly cut and the inner side precisely matched with the prosthesis. The surgery was concluded with the standard KPro procedure.
At the end of the surgery the KPro was correctly centered.
The femtosecond laser enables to perform a new safe and easy procedure to center the KPro in the donor cornea.
