To evaluate intracameral injection of triamcinolone acetate and Cefuroxime in phacoemulsification
Department of Ophthalmology and Optometry, Medical Faculty Masaryk University, St. Anne Hospital, Brno, Czech Republic
1000 eyes were treated by intracameral injection of 1,25 mg Triamcinolone acetate and 1 mg Cefuroxime after uncomplicated phacoemulsification. 1000 eyes were treated combination of topical antibiotics and corticosteroid. We evaluate visual acuity, intraocular pressure, inflammatory signs and intraocular status.
The both methods effectively control postoperative inflammatory reaction
Triamcinolone acetate and Cefuroxime were sufficiently effective in controlling postoperative inflammatory reaction. We can avoid topical corticosteroidsṀ administration after phacoemulsification.
