Abstract Details

Purpose:

The FineVision PhysIOL is a trifocal diffractive optic used for implantation after phaco lensextraction for a cataract. The FineVision optic combines two diffractive systems that are adjusted to offer very satisfactory uncorrected visual acuity at all distances and in all light conditions.

Setting:

The PhysIOL trifocal diffractive IOL aims to improve intermediate vision while maintaining performance at far and near distances reducing spectacle dependence for far, intermediate and near vision

Methods:

Patients with bilateral cataracts who received the FineVision PhysIOL trifocal lens are included in the study.

Results:

Patient data and patient feedback regarding UCVA at near, intermediate and far distances were noted at various intervals, analyzed and results are reported. Other aspects such as design, Yag rate, contrast sensitivity and spectacle independence are also noted and reported.

Conclusions:

Patient satisfaction are not only determined by UCVA results at near, intermediate and far distances but are also influenced by spectacle independence and side effects such as haloes at night.
