To report the visual outcomes and lamellar thickness at 6 months of ?single pass ultra thin? (SP-UT) DSAEK.

Standardised, topical, sutureless SP-UT DSAEK was performed in 11 eyes between November 2012 and March 2013. Donor lamellae were prepared using the 500?m and 550?m Gebauer microkeratome heads with a target residual thickness of <100?m. Best spectacle-corrected visual acuity (BSCVA), manifest refraction, and OCT central graft thickness were assessed at 1 week and 1, 3, and 6 months after SP-UT DSAEK.


All 11 corneal lamellae were prepared successfully without perforation and surgery was uncomplicated. All 11 donor grafts showed a consistently smooth preparation with a thickness of <100?m. Visual recovery was excellent and rapid in all cases with vision clearing at 1 month.
