Abstract Details

Purpose:

reaching a good near/far vision in between 40 and 65 year old emmetropic and ammetropic patients through corneal refractive surgery by modifying preexisting spherical aberration.

Setting:

Universitary Quiron Hospital of Madrid. C/Diego de Velazquez 1. 28023 Madrid

Methods:

prescription is obtained with and without cycloplegia, motor and sensory ocular dominance, elevation topography, Placido topography, corneal hysteresis and corneal resistance coefficient, eye surface and fundoscopy, intraocular pressure, eye fixation, iris photography, aberrometry and dynamic topography. By modifying the spherical aberration to be induced, we will be able to achieve better depth of field and good near and far vision, and middle distance vision as well.

Results:

In patients belonging to all age ranges a percentage of visual acuity above 90% is found, described as an acuity above 0.9, and sight qualities close to J1.

Conclusions:

It is an easy, swift, safe and effective technique for providing patients with comfortable vision at any distances.
