Abstract Details

To assess the visual quality in pseudophakic patients after secondary implantation with a multifocal refractive lens (Sulcoflex®) in the sulcus

Private Clinic. Instituto Oftalmología Avanzada, Madrid

Seven implanted intraocular lens (IOLs) were assessed one month after surgery, when the patient was surgically discharged. Objective Scatter Index (OSI), modulation transfer function (MTF), Strehl ratio, halos, aberrations and visual acuity (VA) were assessed and compared with the results obtained before the secondary implant

Of the visual assessment parameters, only the intraocular light scatter was statistically significant (p= 0.0310). There was no statistically significant variation in either the MTF (p= 0.8476), Strehl Ratio (p= 0.6582), halos (p= 0.3706) or the higher order root-mean-square wavefront error (RMS) (p=0.2422). All patients achieved near vision of J1 without compensation

Secondary implantation of a Sulcoflex multifocal refractive lens did not cause any variation in the visual quality values of patients who underwent surgery FINANCIAL INTEREST: NONE
