Abstract Details



Purpose:

To describe rare case of spontaneous corneal perforation of acute hydrops as a presenting symptom of keratoconus.

Setting:

Ophthalmology Department, Kaplan Medical Center, Israel

Methods:

A 30-years-old man treated with systemic Colchicine for Familial Mediterranean fever presented with an acute hydrops followed by spontaneous perforation as a presenting symptom of keratoconus.

Results:

The perforation was first glued but the glue fall twice and an emergent PKP was performed. UCDVA 1 year after the surgery was 20/40.

Conclusions:

Spontaneous perforation of acute hydrops is a rare complication and can be the presenting symptom of Keratoconus. FINANCIAL INTEREST: NONE
