Abstract Details

Is to demonstrate anterior segment OCT findings in cases with corneal burn developed during phacoemulsification

Private ophthalmology hospital

Case series

3 cases had corneal burn during phacoemulsification. All cases had 2.2 mm clear corneal incisions. Corneal burns developed at the very beginning of the phacoemulsification. All cases were managed with sutures. One case required application of cyanoacrylate 3 weeks after the surgery. Anterior segment OCT findings demonstrated the extent of stromal thermal injury and the anatomical structure of the clear corneal tunnels. OCT images also demonstrated pro lapsing iris tissue. Seidel positive cases demonstrated abnormal apposition of the corneal incision in OCT images

Anterior segment is useful in the follow-up of cases with corneal burn in phacoemulsification. Anterior segment OCT is also helpful to evaluate wound leakage in badly structured corneal incisions FINANCIAL INTEREST: NONE
