The European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons (ESCRS),
a leader in the worldwide ophthalmic community, is a not-for-profit
organisation founded to enhance and assist the study and practice of ophthalmology.The ESCRS offers a unique forum for discussion and learning to meet the professional and continuing educational needs of its members.

The most prominent and central activity of the Society is its Annual Congress.The most recent ESCRS Congress in Berlin in September was
a huge success attracting more than 5,000 delegates from more than 100 countries around the world.

The largest ophthalmology congress in Europe, the ESCRS featured a comprehensive programme of activities and events to keep delegates busy, including more than 100 courses, 5 main symposia, in excess of 600 free papers and almost the same number of posters. In addition, a record
number of companies participated in the Industry Exhibition.
