Abstract Details

To determine the agreement of anterior keratometry measurements obtained with Verion Image Guided System (Alcon, Laboratories Inc), IOLMaster 500 (Carl Zeiss, Meditec, Jena, Germany) and Pentacam (Oculus, Wetzlar, Germany).

Cataract Service, Moorfields Eye Hospital, NHS Foundation Trust, London, United Kingdom.

Anterior keratometry (flat K, steep K and dioptres (D) of astigmatism) were obtained with Verion, IOL Master500 and Pentacam of human eyes with no ocular pathology other than cataracts. Statistical analysis of the differences between the three examination tools were calculated using Prism 6.

36 eyes of 23 patients were examined. There were 18 right eyes and 18 left eyes. Mean age was 69 years (range 41-89 years). There were non-significant differences in; (i) flat Ks, Verion mean K1= 43.16D, IOLMaster mean K1= 42.96D and Pentacam mean K1= 45.60D (P= 0.84), (ii) steep Ks, Verion mean K2= 41.62D, IOLMaster mean K2= 44.17D and Pentacam mean K2= 46.80D (P=0.79) and (iii) mean dioptres of astigmatism, Verion= 1.23D, IOLMaster= 1.21D and Pentacam= 1.17D (P=0.74), between the three instruments (one-way ANOVA).

There was good agreement in anterior keratometry data between Verion, IOLMaster 500 and Pentacam in normal human eyes.
