Abstract Details

To evaluate the IOP reduction in patients of uncontrolled post PLI PACD without medications and to analyse the changes in visual fields in patients of PACD following Selective laser trabeculoplasty.

Advanced Eye Center,Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research, Chandigarh- A tertiary care center of North India

Prospective(one year) non randomised interventional study of 34 PACD (24 PAC and 10 PACG) eyes treated with Selective Laser Trabeculoplasty in post laser iridotomy primary angle closure disease.

The mean pre SLT IOP of 34 patients (8 males and 26 females) was 23.76 ±1.92mm Hg. The post SLT follow up IOP was 16.00 ±2.74mm on day 1, 19.76 ± 4.68mm at one week, 18.67 ± 2.27mm at one month, 19.09 ± 2.29mm at three months and 18.42 ± 2.16 at six month and all were significant (p<0.001). No significant complications or side effect and no significant changes in visual field after six month.

SLT can be an effective modality of treatment in PACD patient who continue to have moderately raised IOP post LI. SLT is a safe, cost effective procedure and provides better compliance.
