Abstract Details

Purpose:

To show and analyze the outcomes of Laser Insitu Keratomielosis (LASIK) performed with femtosecond laser and wavefront guided ablation for the correction of myopia and astigmatism.

Setting:

This is a retrospective study taken at Lasik Center Surabaya Eye Clinic, East Java Indonesia.

Methods:

The data of the patients who had undergone LASIK using femtosecond Ziemer LDV and Technolas 217Z100 excimer laser (Bausch & Lomb) were collected. The procedure on these patients was performed by the author. The age, gender, refraction and the visual result of the patients post operatively were evaluated.

Results:

A total of 78 eyes from 40 patients who had undergone LASIK between January 2014 to January 2015 were analyzed. The mean age of the patients was 21.89±5.6 year old, there were 15 female (37.5%) and 25 male (62.5%). UCVA before LASIK was 0.15±0.19. Spherical equivalent was -4.69±3.27 Diopter. The cylinder was within -1.15±0.68 in 73 eyes. The spherical equivalent at 1 day, 1 week and 1 month post operatively was 0.01±0.5, -0.69±2.9, and -0.19±0.54 respectively.

Conclusions:

LASIK performed with femtosecond Ziemer LDV and wavefront guided ablation (Technolas 217Z100 from Bausch & Lomb) achieved satisfactory refractive and visual outcomes with low complication rate.
