Abstract Details

Purpose:

To asses the concordances between evaluation of severity in ocular chronic GVHD with clinical test and with keratograph 5M.

Setting:

Chronic ocular GVHD is increasing worldwide. Recently NIH has published new criteria to establish diagnosis. GVHD consensus group has refered 4 clinical evaluations to establish severity index: Schirmer test, corneal staining, conjunctival staining and OSDI index. We propose the use of keratograph 5M to establish severity score in DES.

Methods:

We evaluate 8 patients with chronic ocular GVHD in the clinic using the criteria of the GVHD consensus group with: Schirmer test I, corneal and conjunctival staining and OSDI test. We clasificate the patients by this publication score in mild, moderate and severe DES. We made the evaluation of the same patients with Jenvis mode Keratograph 5M. Using K Cohen statistical analysis we study the correlation between both evaluations.

Results:

We reach a good grade of correlation between both measurements (k=0,74), although we found differences in 3 patients were keratogrpah 5M may make a promt diagnosis by the meibography.

Conclusions:

Keratograph 5M is a usefull tool to make the severity score in DES from ocular GVHD patients. It can make a promt diagnosis with the meibography evaluation.
