Abstract Details


To evaluate the intrasubject repeatability of the ocular aberrometry obtained with a new ocular pyramid aberrometer in a sample of normal eyes.

A total of 45 healthy eyes of 45 subjects with ages ranging between 18 to 45 years. In all cases three consecutive acquisitions were obtained to perform the intrasubject repeatability of the measurements with the Osiris System. Pharmacological pupil dilation was not used. Intrasubject repeatability for 4.0 and 6.0mm pupils was evaluated by the within subject standard deviation (Sw) and intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC).


Low values of Sw and ICC outcomes close to 1 were observed for the sphere and cylinder at 3.0mm pupil size. Low values of Sw and ICC values close to 1 were observed for total, LOA and HOA RMS and for each Zernike coefficient analyse (ICC ≥ 0.867) at 4.0 pupil size, with more limited outcomes for the aberrometric coefficient of Z(4,4) with an ICC of 0.648. For 6.0 mm of pupil diameter, low Sw and ICC values close to 1 were observed for all aberrometric parameters or Zernike coefficients analyzed (ICC ≥ 0.870).


The Osiris aberrometer provide consistent and reliable measurements of ocular aberrometry. However, the aberrometric parameters from fourth order should be interpreted with caution.
