Abstract Details

Purpose:

To evaluate the optical, functional outcomes and patients satisfaction after Implantation of asymmetric multifocal LENTIS Comfort toric.

Setting:

Eye Clinic Cham, Janahof 2, 93413 Cham, Germany

Methods:

In a prospective case study from September 2015-January 2016 we implanted LENTIS Comfort-toric in 22 eyes of 17 patients with cataract and astigmatisms of 1,5-3,0D We evaluated the preoperative ,UCVA,refraction,wave front and postoperative uncorrected (UCVA) for distance,intermediate and near, post-op refraction , best corrected (BCVA) and wave front. The quality of vision, glare, halos and the personal satisfaction of the patients was assessed with a validated questionnaire.

Results:

Three months after the Implantation the mean UCVA for distance was 0,81; for intermediate 0,8;for near 0.59.BCVA was 0,83 ;0,8;and 0,6.The mean refraction was -0,35D None of the patients needed the glasses for working on PC ,58% were able to read newspaper without glasses. 30%of the patients were very satisfied 70% satisfied with the achieved results.

Conclusions:

The Lentis Comfort toric delivered excellent visual acuity for distance and intermediate and very good results for near distance. All patients were independent of glasses in distance and intermediate vision. Only 42 % of the included patients needed glasses for near. The satisfaction of the patients was high.
