Abstract Details

Purpose:

To evaluate the rotational stability and postoperative refractive results of the PreciSal monofocal intraocular lens

Setting:

Private practice. Vision Clinic Center, Geneva, Switzerland

Methods:

Preloaded hydrophobic monofocal single-piece PreciSal IOLs were implanted in 30 cataract eyes. No exclusion criteria were applied in order to avoid bias. Axis of the lens was assessed postoperatively using the NIDEK OPD Scan III (NIDEK Co Ltd) at day 1 and day 30. The one-month postoperative best visual acuity was determined by subjective refraction

Results:

At final follow-up, the mean rotation of the IOL was 1.35 degrees (range 0-3). Data analysis of the predictability of postoperative spherical equivalence in the range of ± 0.5 D demonstrated that 85% of the eyes implanted with PreciSal lenses were within this range

Conclusions:

Monofocal PreciSal IOL revealed very good rotational stability and postoperative refractive predictability. Therefore, the PreciSal Toric IOL seems to be a very good candidate to correct corneal astigmatism in cataract patient
