Abstract Details

Purpose:

A case report on FLACS and toric intraocular lens implantation after deep anterior lamellar keratoplasty

Setting:

Tertiary Ophthalmology referral unit

Methods:

Case report

Results:

58 year-old patient who had both keratoconus and Fuch's endothelial dystrophy underwent a left eye deep anterior lamellar keratoplasty first followed by FLACS 2 years later. A toric monofocal IOL was implanted which successfully corrected her residual corneal astigmatism. Corneal endothelial cell counts were minimally affected post FLACS.

Conclusions:

Femtosecond laser assisted cataract surgery can be successfully performed post corneal transplant and may have a role in minimizing endothelial cell loss in these patients.
