Note : Please note that applications for trainee ophthalmologists may not be submitted online. * You must supply an original letter of verification from your training hospital to qualify for trainee membership. This letter must be on headed paper from your hospital with an official stamp and signed by your superior. Trainees must print out the membership form and post/fax it to the ESCRS along with a letter of verification from your hospital to the following address

Once your membership application has been processed you will receive your membership documentation by post.
Full membership is open to ophthalmologists practicing in Europe. (The WHO definition of Europe is accepted by the Society as its official definition )
International membership is open to all ophthalmologists practicing outside of Europe.
Trainee Membership is open to all residents/interns engaged in full time training in ophthalmology. Trainees may avail of free membership if they choose not to receive the Journal of Cataract and Refractive Surgery.
Trainee members cannot join on line as an original letter of verification from the hospital or institution must accompany the application
Non-medical visual scientists applying for membership must be proposed and seconded by a full member and be sanctioned by the General Purposes Committee.
